I am usually a HUGE EC fan. I have owned many pieces from luggage to accessory pieces but this piece disappointed me. The 1st trip I took with it, the stabilizing U piece (that allows it to stand up without falling over) broke off. It always seems to be collapsing into itself whether it is full or empty. I understand that this is a soft sided piece but I have owned other EC soft sided pieces that did not do this. I continue to use it because It is the perfect side. I DO Like that my pack-it cubes and dob kits fit nicely in here which helps with the organization. If I had to do it over, I would still go with EC but would go with a different model

I just finished a 3 month trip through New Zealand with my Tarmac and Tote.... I organized my things in packing cubes so the Tarmac 25 had plenty of room for everything ... I actually was able to leave my tote at a friend's house and travel with one suitcase, which was great as I was getting around by bus and train... the suitcase held up quite well even after being literally 'thrown' into the bus's cargo holds... I also appreciated the sturdy wheels which enabled me to roll across everything imaginable... did you know you can push as well as pull this luggage... very nice! My only problem occurred when I lost the piggyback clip... unfortunately it slipped off somewhere never to be found again...

My family (wife, self and three kids 12, 10 & 8) traveled around the world for a year and a day. We visited 25 countries on five continents. We each took a backpack and one Eagle Creek Tarmac rollaround, sizes from 20" for our 8-year-old to the 25" for me. We traveled by trains, planes, autos, ferries, across European cobblestones and down Indian alleyways. Nothing broke or needed replacement. Five Hemphills. A year and a day. Five continents, twenty-five countries. One set of luggage.

Have been using Eagle Creek products for years, and just bought the Tarmac last year. Love its capacity, organization (multiple pockets), and book opening access. Only thing I miss are the internal side pockets where I would pack things like flashlights, multi-tool, etc in my previous model. Every product of yours I have is terrific. Keep it up!

Fantastic durable, dependable luggage which will never wear out and which will serve you no matter how tough the conditions.

Lightweight bags with lots of storage and easily can find them on the conveyor belt after arriving at my destination.

I travel all over the Northwest Territories as part of my job. And when I do get the chance to travel down South, I shop and pack my bags to the max. The conditions can be rough and I ruined two previous sets of luggage. My beautiful new Eaglecreek luggage has lasted 2.5 years without a tear, a rip or a wheel issue. I use the cubes and sacs so that I locate what I need quickly -- makes a tremendous difference.

I now ONLY use Eagle Creek-it's fantastic! There are many great bags out there, but what puts Eagle Creek at the top of my list is the high quality AND especially the outstanding Customer Service! A bag is only as good as the guarantee. When they say lifetime guarantee, they mean it! I had a small problem with a zipper. Since that bag was no longer produced, they offered me a choice to upgrade to a nicer bag, were friendly and helpful all the way. I had the new bag in days. I liked it so much, I bought more! These bags have trooped all over the world with me and always perform great! Now my friends are buying them too. Thanks Eagle Creek for being the best!

I have had a number of EagleCreek bags over the years and they have gone with me on over a million air miles without letting me down. They didn't wear out, just new features of the Tarmac caught my eye. The Tarmac improves on the past wheeled bags by adding an angled, longer handle. The book style opening is welcomed that makes it easier to access the content. The wheels are the slickest on the market. They glide over the miles like greased lightening.

The only improvement that EC could make is to add a light colored material to the interior to make it easier to seen the contents in the dark hotel closets. Another idea is to move the eye glasses case to another side of the bag. Currently, it is on the opposite side as the primary side handle. While a good idea, it is placed so that anything in side would be crushed. I have never used the glasses case.

Last year, just before flying on a 7-month All-Germany trip, i've decided to look for a new suitcase. My last travel ended up with a torn suitcase, wheels fell somewhere on the first days, and moving around was somewhat of a nightmare. This time will be different, so i decided, especially since this trip would be my first alone, for such a long period of time, when the idea is to move from a hostel to another hostel, in many trains, many staircases, bad weather. Being a 21-year-old girl from Israel, with a limited budget, the decision to buy the Eagle Creek suitcase for a trip in Europe was strange for my surroundings to comprehend. But it was obvious for me that this was probably the most crucial purchase. And so i bought it. And flew away. Everything i needed was in it, my entire world for a long time, and when my world expended with maps and lots of memories i just couldn't leave behind, my suitcase still handled it. Through muddy and snowy German winter, Parisian staircases, and just many many travels around (just about 40), this suitcase was the most reliable thing in my trip. Nothing, absolutely nothing about it bothered me, and that was a huge relief. More than a year and a half now, it still looks and functions as a brand new, wheels are definitely still there, and i have a feeling we won't separate for many years to come.

I first and formost thank you, Eagle Creek, for entering my life. This must be the smartest purchase of my life, too.

This is the greatest piece of luggage I have ever owned. Holds an amazing amount and can actually come in under the airline 50 lb. limit. I always pack outbound with the extension closed so that I have space to bring back the goodies I find. Great for both domestic and international travel. Very durable.

I have lugged my Tarmac luggage around the world seven times since 2004 and number trips back and forth from London to Atlanta. My luggage never gives up and has never disappointed me. She remains my constant companion on these long trips, and I cannot do without her. Thank you, Eagle Creek, for producting such a super, dependable, well-built, attractive and long-wearing luggage.

Wow! Love the bag! I just returned from 2 weeks in Europe and the Tarmac 25 was perfect in so many ways. The bag was the perfect size to carry items for 2+ weeks of travel. The Tarmac 25 itself is so easy to organize and I bought the cubes and folder for perfect storage. The larger wheels made the bag easy to maneuver on uneven terrain and the separate shoe pouch is extremely useful/handy. The handle is strong and comfortable to hold. This is my favorite luggage and for the first time ever, I never once had to hunt for lost items in my suitcase. This is a fabulous suitcase and is perfect with the packing tubes, cubes, and envelopes.

Received this piece of luggage as a gift. It is a gift that just keeps giving. I have taken it on a cruise to the Carribean, a cruise to Alaska and various flights within California. Just love it!!!
Suzanne Saunders   -  Denver, CO, United States

The Tarmac 25 has been my main suitcase for more than a year. Along with the matching Flight Bag (small), it easily handled a month-long trip to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji (that alone was ten commercial airline flights and a few over the road trips), and a trip to Peru, as well as air and road trips around the US. The only casualty so far is a zipper pull tab - which I'll send in to get fixed one of these days. I believe that an aircraft hatch door must have been slammed down right on it, because of the damage to the TSA-approved (very tough) lock that was attached to the zipper at the time. The lock was ruined, zipper still works even without the tab. I haven't added it up lately but I think this bag has logged at least 50,000 air miles and has been checked at least 20 times. It still looks - and works- great. I'm sold on Eagle Creek products after my experience with these bags.

I travel in and out of O'Hare every week. This bag has held up great. Last winter my bag was "de-iced" on the tarmac, but every thing in the bag was bone dry. And once the bag dried out, it still looked as good as new.
Kathy Kangas   -  Spokane, WA, United States

To say it simply "I LOVE IT". The best piece of luggage I have ever had!
Sandra Fleming   -  Clarence Center, NY, United States

My husband and I love our luggage. The various packing folders and cubes fit so well. I can pack in 5 minutes! Everything has its place in the suitcase. WE also love the fact that they are well built and wheel so easily.

I am now a convert from a hard case to the Eaglecreek soft (but hardy)I am traveling constantly in the Middle East and Asia (50%)I purchased your suitcase (Tarmac ES 25) 6 months ago and am delighted with everthing about it from the quality and ease of movement (its still as new)to its ruggedness to the sensible compartments and their ease of use. I have realised that the suitcase I have is more than large enough for 1-2 weeks of travel during warm times but I went on to your web site to look for the larger size for the colder times and also decided to respond to your product review form.

Sad to say after 2 years and 146,423 flight miles (about 100 trips) I will soon make a the call to have my Tarmac repaired. The bottom front corners slightly wore through to hard plastic and a small cut appered above the wear, but I can over look that. One zipper pull bent into an L shape, and I can over look that. TSA busted the teeth out of the main zipper by opening the case without being fully unzipped and only one zipper works, this I can not over look but I can live with it until my next California trip and deliver my Tarmac for repair in person (if this is allowed).
Julias Townsend   -  St. Paul, MN, United States

I had been traveling with a Swiss Army bag for a few years but it fell apart. My local Eagle Creek retailer recommended the Tarmac because of the No Matter What Repair Policy. I have been extremely impressed with the fit and finish of the bag. Very lightweight, and holds a ton of stuff. I'd highly recommend this bag to anyone who travels a lot.
